What is the best 32inch HdTv or brand?

Q. im getting a 32inch HdTv for my 14 year old son, for his room, and i want to get him a good tv for gaming and just watching his favorite shows. i dont know if this helps but we have directtv. also, we want to mount it on the wall if that info helps.
thank you!

A. There is no one best brand of TV, but you can do yourself a lot of good
by purchasing one made by a respectable manufacturer such as
Sony, Toshiba, Samsung, etc.

Read product reviews at cnet.com and other review sites,
and use them to eliminate undesirable models.

Any 32" or larger set can be mounted on a wall
with an appropriate optional bracket.

Personally, I don't have children, but if I did, I wouldn't
allow them to have their own TV set(s) -- there would
be only one TV in the house, and all use of it
would be directly controlled by ... me.

How do you mount a 19" hdtv to a wall without studs?
Q. The wall is between two closets

A. When there are no studs present you need to put the bracket up with things called 'Umbrella Fixings' you have to make pilot holes in the wall after marking off the position of the bracket then push the fixings into place. You then need to use a tool (which you can get at the same time as buying the fixings themselves fairly cheaply) which attaches to the screw and pulls it tight splaying it behind the plaster and pulling it tight on both sides. These are pretty strong and will have no problem whatsoever in holding a 19" tv. Just use a few of them not just one or two. Obviously i wouldn't recommend them for a giant tv but for that size you will have no problem.

Can an HDTV screen be mounted above a gas fireplace?
Q. or will the heat from the fire damage the screen? Thanks

A. Yes, absolutely. Today's living rooms often have the fireplace as the focal point and this is a very common application for plasma TVs today. I've tilt mounted a 50" over mine and it works fine and is the envy of the neighborhood.

First, get an accurate thermometer and tape it to the wall above the mantel or fireplace, where the Plasma TV would be. Build a fire, and let it roar awhile.Check the thermometer. If the temperature is above 90 degrees F then the area is receiving too much heat and you might want to consider another location. (Plasma TVs may still run without harming the unit even with the environment heat at 90 degrees F or above, check your units operating specs). If the plasma display is not turned on while a fire burns in the fireplace, then the unit will not be harmed at all even though the temperature surrounding the unit may be warm.

Cement wall anchors should be used with the wall mount to secure this application. If you're not comfortable with this, hire a professional. The bracket utilized should also be rated to the weight of the plasma.
