best quality 40 inch hdtv image

Like my tv is 40 inches or something and when I plugged the HDMI cabled in and turned it on it's only like a little square? It doesn't even take up half of my tv...but I can play on the xbox and everything.
So what should I do to make it the size of my tv?

Its either your tv setting or your xbox display settings.
Xbox: MyXbox > System Settings> Control Settings > Display> HDTV Settings> Adjust to what is best. (not sure what quality you have)

Are there any 1080P HDTV's that compare to the sony xbr4?

I am looking for an LCD TV that is 1080P and about 40 inches. I have been looking into the sony xbr4, and was curious if there are any other TV's out that can compare to the sony xbr4's picture quality. price does not matter, thank you.

Actually any of the well known LCD TV manufacturers. SHarp, Panasonic, LG, Samsung will be able to compare.
In any case make sure the sales people allow you to adjust the tvs to your liking. Once you have narrowed down your search, ask them to set them side by side. They will often set up cheaper TVs next to the better Tvs to make the more expensive ones look even better. They sometimes crank up the brightness and contrast to yeild the same effect. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples.
If cost is no option take a look at the Runco CX40HD or the Vidikron DView VL40. These guys are at the top of the food chain as far as Plasmasa and projectors go. I personally have not had a chance to view any of their LCD but if the rest of their products are a testament to their quality they will be worth a look.
