Why wont metal gear solid: the essential collection work on my ps3? I have the old 80 gig?

Q. I have played other ps2 games on my 80 gig. None of the games work. They all have the PlayStation logo on them. They all go to the start menu and when I try "new game" they go back to the start menu?
Help!

A. Have you checked if they are supported by your PS3? Remember that there were two types of console USA and Japan with hardware emulation (more compatible) and European version with the software emulation (the less compatible one).

I have heard that there some issues with up scaling so you could try to turn it off.

The best way is to play PS2 games on PS2 since on HDTV PS2 games look just plain bad.

how big a tv can a hd signal support?
Q. With the new 80" hdtv when will the tv get to big to support a perfect hd picture ?

A. The size of the the display isn't the issue ... it's how far the viewer is from the screen that counts. Read the article at the 1st link for details, but basically for every size of screen there is a specific minimum distance where someone with normal eyesight will not be able to see the individual pixels that make up the image at any specific resolution.

For example, if the viewer sits 8 ft or more from an 80" screen there would be no advantage to higher resolution than 1080p, and the same is true of a 140" screen at about 15 ft. This relates to the sharpness of the image/resolution, but there is another consideration, and that's the angle (measured horizontally) between the left and right edge of the screen from the viewing position. There is no absolute best angle, but the maximum angle usually recommended is 36 degrees.

Most viewers watch their TV's from far too great a distance. See the 2nd link for a calculator that allows you to determine how far to sit from any size screen. In the case of an 80" 1080p screen the optimum distance (36 degree viewing angle) is at about 9 ft.

If you think about it after reading the articles at the link you will understand that a projector and screen is about the only current display technology where it will almost always be beneficial to have resolution available HIGHER than 1080p. An 80" HDTV would also fall into this group (if watched at the right viewing distance). In theory this is true of smaller HDTVs' BUT in most consumer's rooms viewing distances are too long to support this.

How can you replace a broken LCD screen in a Sylvania LC427SSX 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV?
Q. My sister in law left a broken Sylvania LC427SSX 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV. I looked online but I can't seem to find any place where I can find just the screen for replacement. Does anyone know where I can buy just the screen or how to fix it?

A. you need SKILLS and tools to replace the LCD DISPLAY PANEL.
However , if you known the PARTS COST , you will never want to replace it, and buy an new TV for sure.
New LCD display panel cost about 65 % of same screen size of new TV. + shipping and services charge to replace the panel . total is around 80 + % of new LCD TV.
will you still want to buy the display panel ?
