What specific computer would be best for running CS4?

Q. I dont want to build my own and want to stay around the $1000 price range. I have a monitor. I've read some forms and was just hoping some would recommend a specific brand and model that they use or know would work well with the software.

A. Here are some recommended:

Processor--->
AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4GHz : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103692

It can be overclocked to 4GHz easily. It beats Intel Core i7 920 2.6GHz which costs almost double. If you think I'm lying then you can check up the internet: http://www.trustedreviews.com/cpu-memory/review/2009/08/25/AMD-Phenom-II-X4-965-Black-Edition/p4

Motherboard---->
ASUS M4A79XTD EVO : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131402
Best motherboard around, excellent for overclocking, and supports crossfire(if you need to add another graphics card after 4-5 years)

or

GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128392
Similarly excellent, but does not have crossfire. So only one graphics card on this. This is much better option to buy, as I dont think you would need two cards now. When you would require more gaming performance after 4-5 years then add a new card.

Computer Case----> with power supply and fans
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156098

RAM---->
4GB DDR3 1600 of any brand. I recommend OCZ or Corsair. 4Gb is enough for every game, after 2-3 years you can add in another 4GB.

Hard Drive---->
Western Digital Caviar 500GB : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073

Mouse and Keyboard---->
Logitech EasyCall Wireless Keyboard, Mouse, Speakerphone & Stereo Headset Kit
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126010

Monitor---->
SAMSUNG ToC T220HD Rose Black 22" 5ms HDMI Widescreen HDTV Monitor Built in TV Tuner & Dolby Digital Surround Speakers, Resolution: 1680 x 1050
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001278

Graphics Card--->
Most important stuff for gaming.
For your monitor and resolution, its recommended to go for ATi 5770 1Gb GDDR5
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447
This graphics card will run every game in the world in MAXXED settings on your computer, and its DX11 card, so new DX11 games like DiRT 2, STALKER, Crysis 2, etc.. will look beautiful on DX11 and give better performance. NVIDIA does not have DX11 cards yet. This machine will thrash any game for 4-5 years without any problems.

As you have a monitor, so you might exclude the one I have mentioned. If your monitor resolution is not more than 1920x1200, then the graphics card I have mentioned is perfect. This would be much less than $1000 but will run every game in the world in maxxed settings.

BEst of LUck! Happy gaming.

how good of a tv does Insignia make? How about Westinghouse?
Q. I know Insignia is made by LG who is a leading manufacturer of HDTV's. I don't know much about Westinghouse. I've been researching these brands and they seem to be the "value" brands but I don't know if it's worth the couple hundred bucks you save to get the best "deal" if its just going to lead to problems later.

A. I have heard some pretty negative things about Westinghouse TV's.

However I hear that Vizio is a good budget brand. Link is to some yahoo rankings of Vizio TV's
